Equipped with a stainless steel burner, this Zodi shower provides endless hot water in just seconds. Includes a rugged plastic case that doubles as a 4-gallon water container. The powerful water pump delivers great water pressure (requires 4 “D” cell batteries). The Hot Tap is ideal for family camping, great for hunting, boating and emergencies!Sometimes campsite grime takes on a life of its own. Enter the Zodi Hot Tap travel shower, a completely self-contained instant hot water shower that sets up anytime, anywhere. An ideal accessory for family camping, road tripping, multi-day music festivals, and power outages, the Hot Tap connects to either a 16.4-ounce disposable propane cylinder or a 5-gallon propane BBQ tank (the latter requires an optional bulk propane kit). To use, simply add four D-cell batteries to the waterproof battery case, connect the propane heat source, and submerge the self-contained 6-volt water pump in a clean water source. One you hit the convenient pushbutton igniter, the Hot Tap will provide plenty of hot water for showers, cleanup, and dishes. The water temperature adjusts all the way up to 100 degrees F via the gas valve.

If you're in an area without an easily accessible water source, you can use the rugged 4-gallon travel case as a water tank instead. The tank holds enough water for a 10-minute shower and refills in seconds. You can even hook the shower up to a garden hose to enjoy an unlimited water supply (requires an optional garden hose kit). The Hot Tap--which measures 15 by 10 by 10 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 11 pounds--comes with everything you need to shower on the go, including an 8-foot flexible shower hose, a water-saving showerhead, and a debris screen to keep the pump from clogging.

Good Little Water Heater, With Manageable Issues
It's a pretty good little water heater. It has a few issues, but nothing awful. First off, I wouldn't exactly call it a "shower" in any kind of water-pressure sense.

It works like this - You put the pump end in your water source. It would be best if that were a container (as opposed to a lake or stream). Here's why - Unless you have the water source on-level or above the output nozzle, the pressure is next to nothing. (Seriously.) However, with your water source above the shower head, the pressure is okay - similar to one of those light handle sprayers on a kitchen sink. Nothing amazing, but it does the job.

The heating unit sits on top of your 1lb propane canister, which sits in an included base. I expected it to be a kind of tippy, but it's not bad. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if I knocked the thing over via the movement of the stiff hose. The unit increases the water temp 30 to 40 degrees, so one great suggestion is putting both the intake and the output...

Nothng better than a hot shower!
This Zodi Hot Tap travel shower is a great way to make nice hot showers out in the wilderness. The water can also be used for cleaning dishes. I went with the single burner as the weather here rarely gets cold enough to use the double burner model. If you expect the input water to be chilly get the double burner model. On cool mornings here I simply recycle the water letting the hot water warm the cold input water until there is a batch ready to go. The electric pump should not be shut off while the burner is running so you simply recycle the water back into the source tub while you lather up. If you like to dry camp out of the back of your SUV or truck this is a really nice comfort. It would also make a nice emergency shower for places that might lose city water.
Excellent portable shower: (but) Houston We Have a Leak
I'm quite happy with my Zodi camp shower. As a previous poster mentioned it's best to use the recirculation method to get the water warm, but even without doing so you definitely get warm water and a surprisingly good flow of water, especially if you are using new alkaline batteries. I tested mine last night outside, temperature low 50s, using about 3 gallons in a large bucket, recirculating for a couple of minutes prior to showering. That proved to be a generous supply of water (and indeed over-kill) and the run-time was well over 5 minutes, plenty of time to get soaped up and feel the warm water. I could have used a lot less water and still got the job done. This shower is a superb investment for those who like to camp. Your overall morale and feeling of refreshment after showering will make you glad you brought this thing along, no doubt about it. I can't wait to use it up in the Sierra this Spring and Summer. You can get the water exceedingly hot if you use the recirculating...
