Haven't Bought Yet..But To Clarify Tyvek "Crunch"

I've been interested in Tyvek fabrics for quite some time, and this is an exceptional use for it. Groundsheets can be made lighter, and without needing to be completely waterproof, provides a good water resistant barrier, and is highly abrasion resistant. For this reason some people say they shouldn't be used as a primary tarp, because they can leak a little water, but for a groundcloth, there's nothing better.
TO SOLVE THE CRUNCH SOUND:
I'm surprised none of you came across this earlier, but it's a matter of softening the fabric. Either with plenty of use, or with a quick wash it will go away. Washing instructions are as follows.
Run a Wash load with No soap, nothing in the Washer. This is to make sure all the soap residue that may harm the Tyvek is out of the machine.
Try not to crunch it into a ball, but rather put it in gently around the central agitator ( If you have one, make sure to put the load on delicates, with as little of spin as...

WOW!, this is loud!
this is a great light weight product for being a moisture barrier for any application. I took it backpacking and it is significantly lighter than a tarp. But man does it make a lot of noise! It's like a gigantic chip bag! Also, its is white, (obvious by the pic) so I guess if your are concerned about being tactical definitely the worst option. this is a great water barrier and it is durable but it would be to loud to use in a relaxing environment.
Handy Tarp
I bought and have been using this tarp for almost a year now. It folds up very small, is very light, and I can't seem to damage it (haven't tried too hard!)... Funny though, one of the other reviewers said it is like a chip bag? I hadn't thought about it until I read their review, but they're exactly right! So funny, but I swear it IS like a big chip bag! That being said, it is not solid white, it is simply a cut of Tyvek with loops. Very handy to have but is very noisy when setting up and putting away. I expect I'll continue using this for a long time, thanks!
